It can also be grid connected at 240VAC 60Hz for those that want the option of selling excess power back to the utility company.
This particular wind turbine does have its limitations, especially for the residential consumer. With a rotor diameter of around nine meters (27ft), it requires that it sit atop a relatively tall tower. In fact, a minimum height of 15 meters is recommended, and in many instances they are placed higher. This causes problems for those that live in a typical suburban or city neighborhood, as property space is a concern. It can also cause problems with local home owner’s association regulations regarding free standing structures on one’s property. Therefore it is essential that one makes sure that they can legally install one of these turbines before spending the money to purchase one.
